Application of HEDP as corrosion and scale inhibitor in oilfield water treatment

Corrosion inhibition: HEDP (Hydroxyethylidene Diphosphonic Acid) is an organophosphonic acid scale and corrosion inhibitor, which can play a good corrosion inhibition role in oilfield water treatment. It can form stable complexes with iron, copper, zinc and other metal ions to protect metal surfaces from corrosion.

Scale inhibition effect: HEDP has excellent scale inhibition performance, it can form hexacyclic chelates with metal ions in water, especially calcium ions, which can effectively prevent scale formation and deposition, and keep the water clean.
Stability: HEDP is still very stable under high pH, not easy to hydrolyze, and not easy to decompose under general light and heat conditions, suitable for use in such a complex environment in the oilfield.
Synergistic effect: When HEDP is used in combination with other water treatment agents, it can show ideal synergistic effect and improve the overall treatment effect.
Scope of application: HEDP is widely used in scale and corrosion inhibition of oilfield water injection and oil pipeline to ensure normal operation and prolong service life of oilfield equipment.
Concentration: In oilfield water treatment, the concentration of HEDP should be adjusted according to the specific situation, generally used as scale inhibitor with a concentration of 1-10mg/L, and used as corrosion inhibitor with a concentration of 10-50mg/L.
Packing and storage: HEDP is packed in plastic drums for liquids, and in plastic woven bags lined with polyethylene bags for solids; it should be stored in cool and ventilated places indoors to protect it from moisture, and pay attention to the storage period.
